Hidden treasure

Although somewhat off the beaten track, the privately owned Flugausstellung Hermeskeil museum in Germany is home to a fine and diverse aviation collection that is well worth a visit. Sebastian Schmitz presents a special report on this outstanding but often overlooked selection of static aircraft and artefacts.

VC10 G-ARVF was retired in 1981 and donated to the museum. Its last flight took it to Saarbrü cken and it travelled the remaining distance to the museum by road.
