After assessing the current status of the Su-25 in Russian service, Alexander Mladenov turns his attention to the Frogfoot operators among the other former Soviet states, beginning with Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia and Kazakhstan.

Fleet Survey Su-25 operators Part 2

The Kazakhstan Air Defence Force has a small fleet of 12 early production Su-25s and a pair of Su-25UBs for conversion and continuation training. All were received from Russia in the 1990s.

Armenia introduced the Su-25 into its air arm in 1992-93 when it took delivery of eight aircraft – six single-seat Su-25s and a pair of two-seat Su-25UB jets – in the form of military aid clandestinely provided by Russia.
