A tour-de-force in scenery creation
There are often times in life when you have to admit you may not know as much as you think. Take the northwest of France for example. From experience, I knew that the northwest of France is a flat, boring area to fly in. I was sure of it, based solely on various trips from Calais to the Belgian border during November. A journey of less than one hour I might add.

That was as much as I knew of the northwest of France. When I was offered a chance to review France VFR’s new Nord-Ouest scenery pack for Microsoft Flight Simulator (MFS), I was sure it would be flat and boring but worth a look. To be honest, I wrongly assumed that I’d be looking at the northeast of the country, based solely on Ouest being similar to the German word Öst for east. Yeah, that’s how much I knew. The question is though, am I right in my assumptions? Is the northwest of France somewhere to fly past rather than to visit? We’d best find out.
