French Phénix delivered

The first Airbus A330-200MRTT Phénix for the French Armée de l’Air, msn 1735, arrived at its new base, BA125 Istres-Le Tubé on September 27 where it will serve with Groupe de Ravitaillement en Vol 2/91 ‘Bretagne’. It was oicially inducted into service on October 19 in a ceremony attended by Armed Forces Minister Florence Parly and General Lavigne, Chief of Staf of the Armée de l’Air. Two days earlier, the second Phénix, msn 1808, made its maiden light after conversion to MRTT coniguration at the Airbus Military facility at Getafe, Spain. The type is expected to enter service next year.
