Wearing a unique commemorative scheme, the French Air Force’s C-160 Transall R-212/64-GL has undertaken a farewell tour to mark the retirement of the type from service.
RThe Transall flew with the Armée de l'Air et de l'Espace for almost 60 years, in a career beginning in 1963. The tour was scheduled to visit 24 cities over a 20-day period.
The Musée Européen de l'Aviation de Chasse at Montélimar received the aircraft’s sister-ship R-217 for its collection on March 26. It flew in from Tahiti where it had been stationed.
