Airports rarely get the kudos they deserve for the efforts they are making to be more environmentally friendly. Chris Smith hears how one UK group is leading by example

Despite headway made in the likes of biofuel technology and research into electric-powered aircraft, the words ‘sustainability’ and ‘aviation’ do not coexist easily. While advancements in hi-tech gizmos often make the headlines, fewer column inches are dedicated to the less dramatic measures airports are making as they work towards a more environmentally friendly future.
