Taxiway signs can help us find our way around airports.

In the previous tutorial we pushed back from the gate, started the engines, added the finishing touches to the Control Display Unit (CDU) and completed the Before Taxi checklist. Air Traffic Control (ATC) has cleared the aircraft to taxi to Runway 27R and we have been assigned the BPK7F departure out of Heathrow.

The route we have been given is via Kilo, then Bravo to the Link 13 intersection, then via Alpha to holding point Alpha 3. Navigating around an unfamiliar airport can be challenging, so this is a good time to pull up the airport diagram to familiarise ourselves with the route (see Fig. 1).
