Gulfstream acquires Nordam nacelle

GULFSTREAM ANNOUNCED on October 1, 2018, that it has formally acquired the Nordam Group Inc’s G500 and G600 Nacelle manufacturing facility, based in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Gulfstream had been operating the production line since early September 2018, following an agreement struck with a US bankruptcy court following Nordam’s bankruptcy iling in July 2018. Nordam had been manufacturing the G500 and G600 nacelles under contract to engine supplier Pratt & Whitney Canada.

Gulfstream said in a statement that a US bankruptcy judge had approved the transfer of the line to Gulfstream on September 26, 2018, but the company declined to disclose further details of the agreement.

Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation President Mark Burns said: “Gulfstream has a 60-year history of manufacturing and product excellence that will serve our customers well as we assume responsibility for nacelle production … The manufacturing of this component is irmly in our wheelhouse, especially since we also manufacture the wings and empennages for these aircraft.”

The G500 is powered by Pratt & Whitney Canada’s PW814GA engine, while the G600 is itted with the more powerful PW815GA engine. Gulfstream said that both the engines and nacelles have Transport Canada and US Federal Aviation Administration certiication.
