H Marks the Spot

Los Angeles International is famed around the world, not only for its fine weather but also the sheer variety of aircraft and airlines on display. Simon Gregory shares some of his favourite images from the rooftop of the H Hotel, one of his best locations for aviation photography in the city.

The rooftop of the hotel is just yards from the entrance to the main LAX complex.

Atrue paradise for aviation enthusiasts, the H Hotel Los Angeles sits in an enviable position on West Century Boulevard, just yards from the main perimeter fence at LAX. An aviation theme greets guests at every turn, from the moment they check in through to bespoke touches within individual rooms. Located centrally between the northerly (24) and southerly (25) runways, and spread over 12 floors, whatever form your passion for aviation takes, you can’t – and won’t – miss a thing when you’re staying at this hotel. Quite frankly, no single spot around the airport offers such unrivalled coverage of aviation movements.
