Hamilton Island Airport for MSFS out now

Scenery developer, AUscene has announced Hamilton Island (YBHM) for Microsoft Flight Simulator is now available.

Hamilton is the largest island in the Whitsundays, an archipelago of 74 scenic islands that make up part of the Great Barrier Reef. It is a popular holiday destination with scheduled flights operated by Qantas, Jetstar and Virgin Australia.

The package for Microsoft Flight Simulator is a handcrafted rendition of Hamilton and Dent Island, including the airport, resort and marina, consisting of high-resolution aerial imagery, 1m DEM and more than 300 custom assets.

Highlights include an accurate representation of the actual airport area with PBR textures, interior modelling of the terminal and control tower as well as ground clutter such as service vehicles, boats and golf carts. It also comes with 3D people and animations, such as flags and air conditioning fans.

Other details include authentic aprons with accurate ground markings, realistic night lighting and custom vegetation. It also comes with several helipads around the island and static helicopters representing local operators.

The surrounding area features custom vegetation, including a detailed model of the marina with authentic buildings, 3D boats, jetties and various points of interest, such as Hamilton Island Golf Club and Dent Island lighthouse. The holiday resort is also recreated with complete coverage of the hotels with animated exterior lifts.
