Helvetic Airways: the other Swiss airline

Helvetic Airways may be small but it is fiercely ambitious – and the world’s biggest Embraer E2 operator. Andreas Spaeth hears more from CEO Tobias Pogorevc.

An iconic white cross on a bright red background, the Swiss national emblem makes for great branding. Numerous products from the alpine country are adorned with this simple yet striking symbol – from chocolate to penknives, and not least its airlines. Usually only the national carrier will reference a country’s flag in its branding, as BA does in the UK, for example. In Switzerland, however, almost every carrier of size puts the national flag on its aircraft tails and that serves for their brand design.
