If we stick to Boris’s famous roadmap, then things are seriously going to be looking up from May 17: that’s because this is the date when museums should be able to open again.

Getting everything ready for the public is no mean feat when social distancing is still the priority, but some museums have also had other issues to sort. For the RAF Museum in Cosford, that has meant organising the annual cleaning of the aeroplanes that are suspended from the ceilings, and impossible to reach by ladder.

With Gloster Javelins and English Electric Lightnings among the aircraft that are distinctly tricky to get to, the museum had to reach for some expert help, as you’ll see in the video above…
