Hype Performance Group's (HPG) Hot Air Balloon for Microsoft Flight Simulator is an authentic hot air ballooning experience with a few fun surprises for pilots and passengers. You can listen to local radio stations in the area you're currently flying with the included radio station app or launch a fireworks display.
The package features a highly detailed interior and exterior 3D model with 17 4K liveries and with PBR (Physically Based Rendering) textures. It comes with animations such as the cockpit, inflation, deflation, stall and collapse as well as 3D people, including a hot air balloon operator and two passengers.
Other highlights include Virtual-Reality support with high frame rates, a working VR cockpit zoom and proper visual scaling throughout the model.
Avionics and systems include steam gauges showing barometric altitude, vertical speed and envelope thermometer, an AI pilot that can control the hot air balloon and an EFB tablet with maps and additional apps available such as balloonist maps app showing GPS speed and track, Little NavMap App and a radio station app.
The flight model sports a fully integrated internal hot air balloon flight dynamics and envelope simulation as well as a simulated: 2 x 12 million BTU burners with realistic visual and sound effects. A custom sound pack features realistic burner and environmental sounds along with bonus features such as launch fireworks with realistic visual and audio smoke and explosion effects.
The package is available on the HPG website for $15.
