Hungary’s order for H225Ms forms part of the Hungarian government’s ‘Zrinyi 2026’ armed forces modernisation programme.
Airbus Helicopters
Airbus Helicopters announced on December 14, 2018, that the Hungarian Ministry of Defence has ordered 16 H225M helicopters equipped with Airbus’ HForce weapons system. The helicopters will be used for combat search and rescue, special operations and transport missions.
Hungary becomes the ninth country to have selected the H225M, following Brazil, France, Indonesia, Kuwait, Malaysia, Mexico, Singapore and Thailand.
Airbus Helicopters also signed a memorandum of understanding with the Hungarian government on December 17, 2018, for industrial cooperation on longterm aviation projects, with an initial focus on the production of precision components for helicopter dynamic systems. Nigel Pittaway
