Hypersonic strike weapon

As part of the Hypersonic Conventional Strike Weapon Program, the US Air Force issued a $928 million contract on April 15 to a team led by Lockheed Martin to develop and build a prototype hypersonic conventional weapon capable of speeds ranging between Mach 5 and 10. The US Air Force is also carrying out a hypersonic weapon development programme jointly with the Defense Advanced Research Programs Administration, the Tactical Boost Glide programme, that is also intended to produce a prototype.
