When Hamas fighters broke through Israel’s border wall around the Gaza strip on the morning of October 7, it set off chain of events that have brought the Middle East to the verge of all out war. Within days of the Hamas-Israel war starting, the British government launched Operation Chambray aiming to contain the spread of war by providing political support to Israel, humanitarian aid for Palestinians and military assistance to the United States as it fought off attacks on its forces across the Middle East.
