ITA Airways accepts first Airbus A350

Italian flag carrier ITA Airways has taken delivery of its first Airbus A350-900.

Leased from ALAFCO Aviation Lease and Finance Company, the widebody EI-IFA (c/n 308) is part of a larger deal with the Kuwait-based firm for four examples.

Francesco Presicce, chief technology officer of ITA Airways, said that adding the type would allow the company to “further develop its intercontinental network” and that the arrival of the aircraft represented a “further step in our strategy of building a new environmental-friendly fleet with leading-edge technologies which will optimise efficiency, quality of service and significantly reduce the environmental impact.”
