As the Alouette III approaches 50 years in service with the Belgian military, the aircraft still has an important role to play, as Ian Harding finds out.
Belgian Air Component Alouette III M-2 (c/n 1816) prepares to land aboard the Belgian command and logistic support ship ‘Godetia’ after a tactical flight over the Norwegian fjords in support of an amphibious live exercise during Trident Juncture 18. More than 250 aircraft, 65 ships and 10,000 vehicles were involved in the manoeuvres.
