Japan to send aircraft for Exercise Air Defender 2023

The German Ministry of Defence has confirmed that the Japan Air Self-Defense Force (JASDF) is taking part in Exercise Air Defender 23 later this year.

The Asian nation will be deploying its Kawasaki C-2 transport aircraft, which will be taking part in a German exercise for the first time. Key.Aero is seeking more details of the participation of the JASDF from the German Ministry of Defence.

Exercise Air Defender 23 is scheduled to take place between June 12-24. Billed as the largest ever aircraft deployment exercise held by NATO, latest available information states the US Air National Guard (ANG) will send 100 aircraft to Germany from 35 states. In total, 220 aircraft are slated to take part made up of 23 different types.
