Kuwait will upgrade its Boeing F/A-18 Hornets with an improved defensive electronic warfare suite that will include the Raytheon CD-108B/ALE-50(V) Integrated Multi-Platform Launch Controller with a towed jammer/decoy, as well as chaf, lare and decoy dispensers integrated with upgraded threat warning systems. The $32 million contract will be completed by 2021.
The US Department of State announced its approval for Kuwait’s procurement of additional munitions for its upgraded aircraft, including 1,020 Mk82 500lb bombs, 1,002 Mk83 1,000lb bombs, and 600 Mk84 2,000lb bombs on August 2. David C Isby
