Just metres from Mackenzie Beach is the Flamingo Beach Hotel and associated apartments some of which have good views of aircraft using Larnaca International Airport (IATA code LCA and ICAO LCLK), plus a more distant perspective of the Airfield. The hotel has a number of rooms that offer photographic opportunities of aircraft on approach to Runway 22 as well as a roof terrace, with a swimming pool, from where the aviation action can be enjoyed.

The Cypriot airport receives a broad selection of European carriers including Russia – such as Rossiya Airlines, Orenair, Aeroflot and S7 Airlines – and others from the former Soviet republics. Middle Eastern operators are well represented utilising equipment rarely seen in mainland Europe, such as Embraer 190s of Royal Jordanian and Arkia Israeli Airlines.

Resident Cobalt Air and the ‘new’ Cyprus Airways use A319s and A320s and TUS Airways (flying the Fokker 70 and ‘100) is also based at Larnaca.
