Located 23nm east of Amsterdam, Lelystad Airport is the largest general aviation hub in the Netherlands and the busiest in terms of flight movements after Schiphol. The airfield is popular with flying clubs and schools, serving as a major training centre for fixed-wing and rotary aircraft. It is also home to the national aviation museum Aviodrome, which hosts the annual FS Weekend and has several aircraft on static display.

The package for Microsoft Flight Simulator is a detailed rendition of the actual airport, including the Aviodrome Aviation Museum with a variety of static aircraft on display. It also features a detailed replica of the terminal building and tower with interior modelling.

It also sports custom car parks, optimised for high detail and performance, animated 3D animated objects, including windsocks, flags and air condition units and gates.

Planned features for future releases include animated 3D people and hangar doors, as well as the option of switching between current and future versions of the airport with the terminal on the north side of the airport in use.

Lelystad Airport is available on the Contrail app for £13.08.
