Les Whittlesey flying his Electra Junior over Lake Matthews, a few miles south-east of Chino Airport in southern California.

When Les Whittlesey decided that he wanted a safe and comfortable classic aeroplane in which to fly his family — wife Susan and daughters Lindy and Allison, named respectively after Charles Lindbergh and the Allison aircraft engine company — he selected the twin-engine Lockheed 12A Electra Junior. It has proved to be an outstanding choice.
