Local Legend 09: Latécoère was released to coincide with City Update II: France and to celebrate the history of French aviation. The high-wing, six-engine flying boat was designed and manufactured by Latécoère Corporation in France and made its maiden flight in November 1942.

The Model 631 was the largest flying boat in the world for several years. Only the American Hughes H-4 Hercules 'Spruce Goose' and the British Saunders-Roe Princess were larger. As the last of the great transoceanic flying boat airliners, the Model 631 remained in service until the mid-1950s.

The aircraft for Microsoft Flight Simulator was developed by BlueMesh, who also made the Spirit of St Louis, Wright Flyer and the Spruce Goose in MSFS. Highlights include 16 high-definition liveries along with a detailed flight deck, a period cabin and a controllable tow boat.

The Latécoère Model 631 is available on the Microsoft Flight Simulator Marketplace for $14.99.
