A look inside the incredible Italian Air Force Museum

The Italian Air Force Museum at Vigna di Valle has undergone a major overhaul for the air arm’s centenary. Philip Stevens took a sneak peek at the reimagined museum before it reopened

Its doors were firmly closed for a year and a half, but in early May, the Italian Air Force Museum – the Museo Storico dell’ Aeronautica Militare at Vigna di Valle near Rome – held its official grand opening. The whole museum had undergone a major redevelopment in readiness for the Italian Air Force centenary celebrations that took place in mid-June.
