As the Westland Lynx reaches the end of 41 years of service with the Royal Navy, 815 NAS based at Royal Naval Air Station Yeovilton, Somerset, provided media representatives with an opportunity to photograph two of its remaining seven Lynx HMA8SRUs during a local sortie on January 26. The Lynx HMA8 will be withdrawn from service on March 31, 2017, approximately three weeks after 208 Flight, the final Lynx ship flight, returns home following a ninemonth deployment aboard HMS Portland. Transition by 815 NAS from the Lynx to the Wildcat HMA2 continues apace.
