The T-100 was often seen as an outsider in the T-X race. An Americanized version of the Italian M-346 Master, it lacked performance but looked good on cost. However, Leonardo has lost two US prime contractors and now looks set to go it alone.

Raytheon no longer offers this artist’s impression of the T-100. Leonardo will continue to pursue T-X alone.

THE LEONARDO M-346 Master is arguably one of the most advanced jet trainers available in the world today. The Italian Air Force’s training center at Lecce is drawing the gaze of air forces in the region, impressed by its low costs and embedded synthetic training.
