Memphis Airport prepares for opening night

The long-awaited opening of the new-look B Concourse at Memphis International Airport (MEM) has been confirmed. At the time of going to press, the first flight at the revamped facility is due to be a Delta Air Lines service, touching down at the Tennessee gateway at 1818hrs on February 15. Departures are scheduled to begin from the new area the following day.

The milestone marks a final phase of a $245m project, with final touches on retail concession and airline operations areas continuing on the ground level of the building. Management overseeing the scheme cited the pandemic, and “workforce and supply chain issues” as slowing recent progress but said timings are now back on track.
