Mi-26T2V completes initial testing

Russian Helicopters announced on April 3, 2019, that it has successfully completed preliminary flight testing of its Mi-26T2V Halo super heavy-lift helicopter.

The prototype is now being prepared or its handover to the Russian Ministry of Defence for the next round of joint testing.

The upgraded Mi-26TV2 made its maiden flight in August 2018 and participated in the Army 2018 International Military and Technical Forum, before being transferred to Mil’s Moscow Helicopter Plant for preliminary flight testing.

In its upgraded form, the helicopter incorporates an integrated NPK90- 2V digital avionics suite, including an enhanced fourchannel autopilot system, full-colour multifunction displays, new navigation and communications systems, energy-absorbing crew seats and a Vitebsk self-defence system.
