BUCKLEY AIR FORCE Base sits at the foot of the Rocky Mountains in a suburb of Denver. The base is a key node for Air Force Space Command, and a gaggle of huge white ‘golf balls’ containing satellite communications equipment and belonging to the resident 460th Space Wing immediately identifies it as such.
