The traditional weapons employment training event of the Russian Aerospace Forces’ 6th Air and Air Defense Army was held at a makeshift range over Lake Ladoga near St Petersburg in north-western Russia during March.
THE ‘LADOGA 2019’ live-_ re exercise was a brief but intense event, designed to test the employment of short-range, heat-seeking air-to-air missiles and gunnery against airborne targets. The missions, held both by day and night, and _ own at low, medium and high altitudes, were conducted on the temporary range set up over the frozen waters of Lake Ladoga in the Republic of Karelia and Leningrad Oblast in north-western Russia in the last week of March.
