More info on deployments for Exercises Steadfast Noon and Strike Warrior

Key.Aero can exclusively reveal more details about the upcoming Exercises Steadfast Noon and Strike Warrior.

In response to further questions a NATO spokesperson has told Key.Aero where detachments will be based during Steadfast Noon and in one case Strike Warrior, though for security reasons the names of the air bases and which aircraft types have not been released. However, with the information already covered by Key.Aero in our previous report it is possible to make some deductions, for instance if only one type of aircraft is taking part from a particular nation.

The UK is to host Finnish Air Force F/A-18 Hornets, Polish Air Force F-16 Fighting Falcons and German Air Force aircraft, though it is not known which aircraft types as Tornados, EF-2000s and A400Ms are taking part and some could operate from Germany itself. In addition, the UK is to accommodate Swedish Air Force aircraft which are solely participating in Exercise Strike Warrior. This is the only additional participant flying in Strike Warrior but not Steadfast Noon.

Belgium is to house some Italian Air Force aircraft and probably relates to the latter's Tornados that are involved. The air arm is also contributing the KC-767 to this training event and as Italy has been identified as a country from which aircraft will launch from for Steadfast Noon sorties, it seems most likely that it would be the tanker operating from that distance as the exercise is taking place in UK, Danish and Dutch airspace.

Hellenic Air Force F-16s, Romanian Air Force F-16s, and Turkish Air Force F-16s will be deployed to Germany.

Denmark will have Czech Air Force Gripens detached.

Not all participants have been mentioned in the list of deployments so presumably this means those aircraft are flying from their home countries, such as the Royal Danish Air Force F-16s.

As speculated by Key.Aero it has been confirmed that Strike Warrior is a UK-run exercise.

We will post more information on Key.Aero as we get it.
