Multey’s Hangar Easter Bunny Air Rally

VIRTUAL AIRLINES

Easter brings with it many things, usually involving confusing stories regarding Easter bunnies and where chocolate eggs come from. It also heralds the arrival of the Annual Mutley’s Hangar Easter Bunny Air Rally, or MEBAR. For the past eight years the MEBAR has given pilots a chance to test their navigation and flying skills, as well as compete against their flight sim friends for the title of MEBAR champion. The event is incredibly popular, not just with single pilots, but with VAs as well. Pilots from BA Virtual, American Airlines Virtual, DC-3 Airways and more come from across the globe to compete.

MEBAR rules

The rules of the MEBAR are fairly straightforward. First up, its piston or turboprops only, and then no more than two engines at that. You have to choose wisely though, as you’ll be stuck with that aircraft for the entire event. It’s also important to ensure that your aircraft is capable of VOR and NDB navigation. Navigation is only half the battle though.
