New Algerian destination for Microsoft Flight Simulator

Scenery developer, NetDesign has released DAAT Aguenar Tamanrasset Airport for Microsoft Flight Simulator.

The airport is a mixed-use civilian and military base in southern Algeria near the city of Tamanrasset in the Sahara. Surrounded by deserts and mountainous terrain, it is an excellent stopover during any trip across Africa.

The package for Microsoft Flight Simulator was created using 4K PBR (Physically Based Rendering) textures based on photos and satellite imagery. It features custom buildings, including the terminal and tower buildings with parallax windows based on real interior photos. Other details include aprons and ground markings which match recent satellite images and taxiway and night lighting.

The Algerian military base is also modelled, with many of the buildings enhanced or added along with edited terrain textures and static Algerian Air Force Su-30MKA and Mi-8s on the tarmac with accurate aircraft markings.

The surrounding area features improved roads, fencing around the airport perimeter and hundreds of objects, including the nearby SKTM solar power plant and the Tin Hinan Tomb. The package is available on simMarket for €14.39.
