DH JETS ON SHOW AT FISHBURN

The Fishburn Historic Aviation Centre in County Durham recently put former Royal Navy Sea Vampire T22 XG743 on display alongside an ex-Swiss Air Force Venom FB54, J-1790.

TRIDENT REPAINTED

The Duxford Aviation Society Hawker Siddeley Trident 2E, G-AVFB, emerged from the IWM’s AirSpace building on 23 February following a repaint of its British European Airways scheme.

FOKKER D.XXI TO BE UNVEILED

An airworthy Fokker D.XXI reproduction project is due to be unveiled at the ATN Aircraft Division works at Hoogeveen in the north-east of the Netherlands during the airfield’s Wings and Wheels Fly-in on 30 May. Original drawings are being used to build what will become the only airworthy representation of this mid-1930s, fixed-undercarriage, monoplane design.

CORSAIR GATHERING

Mike Luther, the Yankee Air Museum’s Thunder over Michigan show director has booked a grand total of 10 Vought/Goodyear Corsairs for this year’s event, to be held at Willow Run Airport in Ypsilanti, Michigan, on 3-4 August.

‘HIND’ MOVES IN GERMANY

Mil Mi-24D ‘Hind’ attack helicopter 96+43, formerly serial 387 with the East German armed forces, left the Militärhistorisches Museum at Berlin-Gatow on 28 February bound for the Luftfahrttechnischen Museum at Rechlin. BEN DUNNELL

747 GOES ON SHOW

Following a road move from Amsterdam-Schiphol, ex-KLM Boeing 747-406 PH-BFB has gone on display at the Corendon Village Hotel in Badhoevedorp, south-west of the Dutch capital. BEN DUNNELL

‘DAKS’ CORRECTION

An amendment to last month’s item on the Daks over Duxford event, taking place on 4-5 June at IWM Duxford: the assembled C-47/DC-3 variants will in fact set off for France on the afternoon of 5 June, not 6 June as stated. BEN DUNNELL
