I think it is fair to say that since the release of Microsoft Flight Simulator in 2020, both the freeware and commercial producers have created more content for it (over the last two years), than for any other platform. One of the latest products depicting Memphis International Airport (KMEM) is produced by BMWorld and AmSim and distributed by Orbx.
Memphis International is the largest airport in Tennessee and a key hub for the entire mid-south region. It’s also a global hub for FedEx and Southern Airways Express, processing packages for delivery all over the world. Other airlines serving Memphis include American, Delta Air Lines, United, Southwest, Allegiant Air, Frontier Airlines and more. The airport was opened in 1929 as Memphis Municipal Airport and built on a 200-acre plot of land just seven miles from downtown Memphis. Since then, it has benefited from a regular cycle of expansion and in 1993 it became the busiest cargo airport in the world.
The airport’s current name was adopted in 1969, when “International” was added to its title to reflect its growing role as an international gateway. Its footprint covers just over six square miles and currently has a single terminal with three concourses arranged around it.
