Minot B-52Hs arrive at Fairford

US Air Force B-52H Stratofortress bombers arrived in the UK on February 10 at RAF Fairford, Gloucestershire, as part of a long-planned, although previously unannounced, three-week Bomber Task Force deployment. A total of four B-52s hit uk soil, they comprised serial numbers 61-0003 ‘MT’/‘Old Ironside III’ (callsign ‘Hate 11’), 61-0018 ‘MT’/‘Night Train’ (‘Hate 12’), 60-0044 ‘MT’/‘Excalibur’ (‘Hate 13’) and 61-0039 ‘MT’/‘The Warrior’ (‘Hate 14’), all from the 5th Bomb Wing’s 69th Bomb Squadron ‘Knighthawks’ at Minot Air Force Base, North Dakota.
