VISUAL EFFECTS FOR MSFS 2020
Normally, my PC Pilot assignments fall into one of two categories, reviewing aircraft addons or reviewing scenery addons. Today however, we look at something slightly differenta visual effects package for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020.
The sim platform has come along in leaps and bounds since its launch 4 years ago, with 3rd party developers bringing us an abundance of detailed landscape enhancements and system rich aircraft to enjoy. That being said, these are all contained within the same base environment, which is starting to show its age and is often the final hurdle responsible for immersion breaking events due to the basic nature of some of its animations.
Here to save the day comes an addon from Parallel 42, commonly referred to online as //42 with the release of the simply titled “SimFX” package. Parallel 42 first came to my attention with several well known flight-sim content streamers using their Flow addon, a modular customizable alternative solution to the clunky in sim toolbar.
Taking a look at the //42 online store, one finds a rather diverse catalog of addons ranging from STOL aircraft, UI utilities, career mode software, and bush pilot ‘scenes’.
