Local Philippine media reports on November 27, 2018 suggest the first AW159 Wildcat will be delivered to the Philippine Navy in the first quarter of 2019 once test flying from Leonardo’s Yeovil facility is completed. The Philippine Navy has two Wildcats on order, as part of a PHP 5.4 billion deal signed with Leonardo in March 2016. Philippine AW159s will be configured for the antisubmarine warfare role and will embark aboard the Navy’s two new frigates being built in South Korea.
