Held in conjunction with the charity Navy Wings, it was clear from the build-up to the Fly Navy Airshow that, together with the Bedfordshire-based Shuttleworth Collection, it would live up to the credo ‘Educate, Inspire, Remember’, with an incredible assortment of both home-based and visiting aeroplanes. From gliders and helicopters to interwar ‘silver-winged’ biplanes and record-breaking high-performance piston fighters, the line-up was easily among the venue’s best in many years.
