IN PICTURES: Highlights from Exercise Cobra Warrior Week 1

As the first week of Exercise Cobra Warrior 23-1 draws to a close, weather has disrupted proceedings as today’s mission (March 10) was cancelled due to snowy weather. However, when the skies cleared some of the participating air forces took the opportunity to conduct their own training sorties.

Cobra Warrior missions were able to be flown on the other two scheduled days this week of Monday, March 6 and Wednesday, March 8. The exercise missions have so far been flown in the morning with participants sometimes flying their own sorties late afternoon the same day.

Plenty of flying has also been taking place on the non-exercise mission days, as per previous iterations of Cobra Warrior, though heavy snow on Thursday, March 9 led to the cancellation of that day’s flying from RAF Waddington.
