SimCoders has announced the Reality Expansion Pack Pack for the default X-Plane 12 Piper PA-18-150 Super Cub is now available.

The pack enhances the aircraft in X-Plane with new flight dynamics, using data from Piper and real-world pilots. This includes corrected handling characteristics on the ground and in the air with accurate stall speeds, performance and crosswind behaviour.
The Lycoming O-320 engine has also been accurately reproduced, including the fuel and oil system with realistic temperatures, flooding simulation and damage modelling. The electrical and avionics are modelled with simulated failures triggered by pilot actions. The avionics are damaged if left on when the engine starts or shuts down, hard landings can damage the undercarriage and the brakes and tires can fail if not managed correctly. However, a maintenance tool can be used to perform servicing such as changing the oil, checking the cylinders, recharging the battery, etc.

Moreover, a state-saving feature restores every switch and lever position where it was when the aircraft is reloaded. The battery may discharge if you leave it on and then close X-Plane and the engine and oil temperature are restored based on the time passed.
Other details include a custom sound set recorded from a real aircraft with effects such as engine clicks and stutters, startup effects etc. The aircraft also sports hypoxia simulation with tunnel vision, native virtual reality support and tips for handling the aircraft correctly or fixing failures.

An interactive walkaround and towing simulation is also included with the ability to control tie-downs and chocks, set the centre of gravity and a popup kneeboard with normal/emergency checklists and reference tables.
The Piper Super Cub Reality Expansion Pack is available on x-plane.org for $19.99.
