Poland opts for AH-64E to replace Hind gunships

Poland announced it had selected the Boeing AH-64E Apache Guardian attack helicopter to replace the Polish Land Forces’ ageing fleet of Soviet-era Mil Mi-24D/W Hind-D/E gunships on September 8.

When Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki paid an unexpected visit to the 30th International Defense Industry Exhibition MSPO in Kielce on September 8, the media speculated he would announce the purchase of a new attack helicopter under the Polish Ministry of National Defense (MND)-led Kruk programme. Under this project, Poland will replace its now-obsolete, ex-Soviet Mi-24D/W Hind-D/Es, which are currently operated by the Polish Land Forces.
