EMBRAER ANNOUNCED on May 20, 2019 that its Praetor 600 super-midsize business aircraft has been granted type certification by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

The aircraft had earlier achieved certification from Brazil’s airworthiness authority, the Agência Nacional de Aviação Civil (ANAC) on April 18, 2019, meaning that the aircraft is now triple-certified.

Michael Amalfitano, president and CEO of Embraer Executive Jets, said: “Now certified by the key aviation safety agencies of the world, the Praetor 600 has proven to be the most disruptive and technologicallyadvanced super-midsize business jet to enter the market, paving the way to begin deliveries now in the second quarter [of 2019].”

Amalfitano added: “Just over six months since its launch and debut, the Praetor 600 has already been outperforming its certification goals, raising expectations of the ideal super-midsize [market]. I want to thank and congratulate the entire Embraer family for bringing to market such a revolutionary aircraft, designed to create a new value experience for customers and shareholders alike.”

Embraer had an example of the Praetor 600 on display at EBACE, which had begun its journey on May 8, 2019, flying direct from São Paulo’s Guarulhos international airport to Fort Lauderdale, Florida with a six-passenger equivalent payload of 1,200lb (544kg). The 3,904 nautical mile (7,230 km) flight was the type’s longest flight to date.

The aircraft then flew across the Atlantic to Farnborough, departing on May 16, 2019, using Sustainable Alternative Jet Fuel or SAJF. At Farnborough the Praetor 600 represented Embraer (along with other members of its business aviation portfolio) at the ‘Fuelling the Future’ aviation business biofuel event, hosted by TAG Aviation on May 18, 2019.

The Praetor 600, currently the flagship of Embraer’s executive jet portfolio, was announced and debuted at the North American Business Aviation Association’s Business Aviation Conference and Exhibition (NBAA BACE) in Las Vegas in October 2018
