THIS MONTH'S ANSWERS

A view of RAF Gütersloh, the former airfield Y-99, probably taken in 1946, when it may still have been known to some by its wartime occupation code. The range of aircraft types visible is fascinating: No 33 Squadron Tempest IIs, Harvards, a Vampire at far left, and a glider — perhaps an Olympia Meise — under construction in front of the second hangar.
