Orbx has announced PS01 Quatam River Airport for X-Plane 11 is now available.
Quatam River in British Columbia, Canada is surrounded by steep fjords leading up a long valley and into the tall forest-covered mountains.
Landings on 762m dirt runway are to the west and take-offs to the east are discouraged unless winds are favourable due to high trees to the east end of the strip.
Designed by PropStrike Studios, the package from Orbx features hand-painted PBR (Physically Based Rendering) textures at a resolution of 2cm per pixel near the airports. It features runway puddle effects and custom mesh by AlpilotX. It comes with two airfields, 10 helipads and 10+ bush plane landing strips. Other highlights include a dynamic runway obstruction plug-in (Windows only) and animated 3D trees surrounding airports such as grass, shrubbery and bushes. Finally, custom animations consist of machinery and ground traffic along with HDR Night lighting.
