WATCH: What’s happening with the RAF Museum’s Vickers Wellington?

After 11 years in the Conservation Centre at Cosford, the end could finally be in sight – as Darren Priday explains…

Restorations take time – and this Vickers Wellington T.10 is no exception. Having arrived at the RAF Museum’s Conservation Centre in Cosford over 10 years ago, this example is still in the ‘in-tray’ of Darren Priday, the Conservation Centre’s manager. The aircraft’s famous geodetic structure is in pretty good condition, but it’s the deterioration of the fabric that has caused the most issues. However, as you’ll discover in the video above, Darren and the team hope to get the Wellington into the paintshop by September – and after that it might not be too long until the historic aviation public can finally see it in all its glory…
