Rafale matures with launch of Standard F4

THE FRENCH Minister for the Armed Forces, Florence Parly, has announced the award of a contract worth around €1.9bn to develop and integrate the Rafale Standard F4 – the next configuration of the ‘omni-role’ combat aircraft. The formal launch at Dassault Aviation’s Mérignac production facility on January 14 aims to validate the F4 standard in 2024, although some functions should become available as early as 2022.
