Red Bull “Plane Swap” stunt goes wrong as aircraft spirals out of control

A stunt sponsored by Red Bull involving two pilots swapping aircraft mid-flight went wrong when one of the planes went out of control and crashed.

The event, which took place yesterday (April 24) near Arizona in the United States, involved two specially modified Cessna 182s being put into a dive before both pilots jumped out and attempted to swap aircraft before regaining control and landing safely.

Only one participant – Luke Aikins – managed to switch aircraft and land safely, while the other, Andy Farrington, ended up pulling his parachute for a safe landing on foot.
