Putting on the Vintage style

Florida is the home base for Vintage Airways which blends the cossetting of its passengers with the allure of the Douglas DC-3. So popular is this irresistible combination that it plans to expand within the USA and maybe beyond.

‘HOLD TIGHT, Straighten Up and Fly Right’, classics from Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman and other stars of the 1940s ooze from the onboard speakers. Outside the wheels squeal and squeak as only a DC-3’s can whilst taxiing for take-off. It’s pure nostalgia as this veritable time capsule transports you back nearly 50 years.

The red tail with its Vintage logo gives the game away. Operating from the Signature terminal (formerly Page Avjet) on the west side of Orlando International Airport in central Florida is Vintage Airways – another daring venture from well-known entrepreneur, Richard Branson.
